We design and manufacture advanced power and control systems for micro satellites, but although we were clearly doing R&D we had been advised that we couldn't claim because we'd received Government aid. Jumpstart informed us that this rarely stops a company from applying, and we asked them to work with us more closely.
In doing so, Jumpstart were able to establish which projects were affected by our Government aid, and which were not. We went on to make a successful application for more than £60,000 - when it came through we were absolutely delighted!
After our initial contract expired, we retained Jumpstart on a long-term basis and will be using their services to train our own staff to make these claims for ourselves.
